The sacred tree of life symbolises spiritual energy and wisdom. Lone trees held special significance for early Celts, representing a union of earthly and celestial energies. The sacred tree evoked life, longevity, spiritual growth and rebirth. It was a symbol of the earth's bounty. Rooted in the heart of the earth, the tree of life drank the sacred waters of life and extended its branches into the skies, providing a link between heaven and earth. This union created a sacred place of spiritual power and wisdom, the focal point of a tribe's sovereignty and the source of its strength. Early standing stones and, later, Celtic crosses were erected to represent the sacred tree and often churches were built on these sacred sites of spiritual power.

Illustrated pendants are greatly magnified. Actual size of these pendants is just 1.5" (4.0cm) or less in diameter and about 0.125" (0.4cm) thick. Each pendant necklace is pierced by a ring and threaded through with a black silk cord for immediate use in wearing.
