Birds were taken as celestial messengers and harbingers of things to come by early Celts. The bird's ability to leave earth and ascend to the heavens make it an object of wonder and mystery. They are symbols of freedom and transcendence, representing the human soul liberated from earthly ties and communing with celestial powers. Returning to earth, they bring messages of prophecy and guidance, aiding mortals on their spiritual and earthly journeys. The raven, because of its distinctive voice, is a bird of particular omens. Doves are symbols of the life spirit suggesting peace, affection and spiritual well-being. Herons reflect vigilance. Pheasants are birds of prophecy. The partridge is a bird of cunning. Ducks are a bridge between the healing waters of earth and the celestial forces of the heavens.

Illustrated pendants are greatly magnified. Actual size of these pendants is just 1.5" (4.0cm) or less in diameter and about 0.125" (0.4cm) thick. Each pendant necklace is pierced by a ring and threaded through with a black silk cord for immediate use in wearing.
